Dear Esteemed Members,

I am overwhelmed while writing this message to all of you through this 12th issue ( February edition) of  Newsletter which is 49th volume .  First of all congratulate to all of you who are the prime stakeholders as well as premium brand ambassador of this high prestigious institution. To my experience you all have supported the initiatives of EIRC- ICAI.

I congratulate to all my council colleagues in EIRC being CA Ravi Patwa, CA Sanjib Sanghi , CA Mayur Agarwal and more importantly very active Chairman CA Debayan Patra who served the council and profession with his futuristic vision and proactive leadership for profession and professionals.

I feel proud to update my colleagues and members that Your EIRC – ICAI won the Second Best National Award and Eastern India CA Students Association ( EICASA) won the best National Award in student category. This award was given at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 8th February 2024 by the hand of the Hon'ble Speaker of Lok Sabha Sri Om Birla.

EIRC organised around 90 program in this council term where more than 170 speakers shared their expertise and insights on various relevant topics and  23000+ members attended the seminar/ workshop/ symposia. Branches and Study Circle supported in various initiatives of EIRC. Functioning of EIRC library has been revamped and smoothened with up to date resource materials which is now available at EIRC website too with search engine facility. Very soon, we will dedicate a new state of the art library with Members lounge to the esteemed members of ICAI.    

Friends and seniors, this era “ AMRITKAL’ belongs to India and there is abundance of opportunities coupled with challenges. By elevating our capacity, we can mitigate the risk and convert the challenges into the opportunity.  Very soon we will become the 3rd largest economy of the world as per estimation of GOI and we Chartered Accountants has to play a vital role in it. My ears echoes  with the powerful word of a leading industrialist ie “ Be in India and Be with India”.  This is the time to prove the quote of our Motto ‘ Ya Supteshu Jagruti- Be awake when others are sleeping.”

I would like to convey to all that we should develop our skill and EIRC is at your doorstep to support under the guidance of our Alma mater ICAI for your endeavour.
